Introduce a law requiring all new drivers to have black boxes for their first two years. We believe this could help reduce serious accidents, save lives, protect others, and instil safe driving habits from the start, particularly given the disproportionate harm caused by new drivers.

DVLA to implement mandatory eye tests for all drivers & sight reporting
DVLA to implement mandatory eye tests for drivers for all ages. We believe that any vision impairment such as short or long sightedness should be something which drivers are mandated to report, just like other health conditions which may affect their vision.
Require all new vans without rear windows to be fitted with cameras
Blind spots on vans without rear windows endanger vulnerable road users and drivers. We believe fitting mandatory reversing cameras would prevent accidents, protect lives, and make our streets safer.
Change law around box junctions to give drivers more leniency
A report suggested that many yellow boxes are bigger than they need to be, on average by 50%. We believe the current rules may be abused by some authorities to raise revenue with no evidence of any benefits to traffic flow. Change law to give drivers more leniency with the suggestions below:
Introduce mandatory driving retests for drivers over the age of 70
We want the Government to introduce mandatory driving retests for drivers over the age of 70. We think this will make the road safer for everyone: motorcyclists, pedestrians and car users.
Do not introduce 6 month rule before learner drivers can take a test
Do not introduce rule that new drivers must wait 6 months before taking a test. There is a standard set by the government to pass a test. If it's passed by a new driver, it should be accepted as by the standards. Crash courses should be allowed.
