Require all schools to start at 10:00 AM in order to try and make school a place where children enjoy themselves rather than a place they feel enclosed and restricted.
Make Monday a half day for all secondary schools
Make a school day on Monday a half day for all secondary schools.
Ban schools from giving after-school detentions
Ban schools from issuing detentions outside of school hours. Instead, require them to be taken during school break times.
Require schools to obtain consent for afterschool detentions & arrange transport
Pass a law which requires schools to obtain prior parental consent for after school detentions.
Mandate seven-hour days Monday to Thursday in schools for shorter Fridays
We ask the Government to require all schools to have seven-hour days Monday to Thursday, while Fridays are reduced to 4.5 hours. This would preserve the total learning time required for education while allowing students a shorter end to the week.
