Fund accommodation for all prison leavers
We call on the Government to fund accommodation for everyone leaving prison so they are not released directly on to the streets and therefore put at a much greater risk of re offending.
Fund the relocation of sexual/domestic abuse victims after a conviction
We urge the Government to fund local councils to enable the immediate relocation of victims of sexual or domestic abuse and violence from where the incident occurred or away from where their abuser resides, if wanted, once a court conviction is secured.
Review young offenders sentencing and consider increased use of custody
We ask the UK Government to review how young offenders aged 10 and above who commit hate crimes, harassment, vandalism or antisocial behaviour and spread racism are currently sentenced. We think they should face more serious legal consequences including increased use of custodial sentences.
Reform bail, sentencing and sex offender registration for child sexual offences
Amend the Bail Act 1976 and PACE 1984 to create a presumption against bail for suspects of child sexual offences. Review sentencing guidelines to significantly increase custodial sentences. Amend the Sexual Offences Act 2003 to require a minimum 25-year sex offender registration period.
