Require DBS checks for all contractors for housing associations and councils
Require DBS checks for all contractors and subcontractors carrying out work for housing associations and councils.
Review & strengthen DBS checks for risks, create lifetime safeguarding records
I want the Government to review and strengthen DBS checks. Implement national pattern-recognition, improve cross-agency information sharing, create lifetime safeguarding records and automatic alerts to avoid missing repeated allegations or risks when people work with children or vulnerable adults.
Require DBS Checks for Tattoo Artists in England
We call on the government to introduce mandatory DBS checks for all licensed tattoo artists in England. Wales has shown this approach works. DBS checks will prevent those with violent or sexual criminal histories from working with clients, protecting public safety and ensuring trust in the industry.
Mandate that all Council and Parliamentary Candidates have an Enhanced DBS check
At the moment it is not mandatory for prospective council candidates or Parliamentary candidates to have an Enhanced DBS check.
Mandate all restaurants with soft play to have qualified first aiders
Introduce legislation so that all family restaurants with soft plays, climbing frames and play parks are required to have a first aider on every shift and a fully stocked first aid box. This could be known as Blakes Law.
