I would like Parliament to make it mandatory for anyone charged with rape to be remanded in custody until trial.

Members can read every reason.
Reinstate capital punishment for rape or for serious sexual assault
Every day another person is raped or sexually assaulted resulting in physical and emotional trauma, in some cases transmission of diseases or unwanted pregnancy.
Set mandatory minimum sentences for all child-related offences
We call on the Government to introduce mandatory minimum sentences for all sexual and violent offences against children.
Review court system to address trial delays for rape and sexual abuse
We want the Government to review the court system in order to better prioritise and protect victims of rape and sexual abuse by preventing postponements of trial start dates. Victims can be left in limbo for months or years, which can cause further trauma and deny timely justice.
Mandate whole life orders for people who rape or murder women or children
Legislate so that anyone convicted of the rape or murder of women or children can never be released. Such offenders should face indefinite containment with no parole or early release, putting public safety and victims’ rights above offender rehabilitation.
Reform bail, sentencing and sex offender registration for child sexual offences
Amend the Bail Act 1976 and PACE 1984 to create a presumption against bail for suspects of child sexual offences. Review sentencing guidelines to significantly increase custodial sentences. Amend the Sexual Offences Act 2003 to require a minimum 25-year sex offender registration period.
