Exempt all individuals already granted asylum or humanitarian protection from any proposed changes to increase the ILR qualifying period. Maintain the 5-year route to settlement for these groups to ensure fairness, aid integration, and honor the established commitment.

Keep the 5-year Indefinite Leave to Remain ILR for ex-Gurkhas & their families
We want the UK Government to keep the current 5-year Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) pathway, for ex-Gurkhas who left the armed forces post 1997, their spouses, and family members. Gurkhas have served Britain with loyalty and deserve fairness, stability, and respect for past commitments.
Keep the 5-year pathway for all legal immigrants to apply for ILR
The Government should stop its plans to change the 5-year pathway for legal immigrants to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain, potentially including immigrants who are already living and working in the UK and have already been on the pathway since 2021.
Allow asylum seekers to work & create a 5-year ILR route for asylum seekers
Pass a law that allows asylum seekers to work as soon as possible to reduce pressure on public funds and so they can support themselves. Create a 5-year route to ILR for asylum seekers who follow the law, contribute to society, and live safely in the UK.
Keep the 5-Year ILR route for refugees. Do not extend it to 10 or 20 years
We call on the UK Government to preserve the current 5-year route (ILR) for refugees and people with humanitarian protection.
Protect 5-Year ILR and Benefits for Refugees Already on the Path to settlement
We want the Government to keep the 5-year ILR route for refugees and commit to ensuring that any new rules or benefit restrictions do not apply to those already holding refugee status or already on the existing pathway to ILR.
