I want the Government to exempt refugees who are sole carers of children who are British citizens from any changes to the current pathway to indefinite leave to remain (ILR) in the UK. I think they should remain on the previous, shorter route to ILR to protect child welfare and family stability.

Retain current ILR rules for dependants already living in the UK
Retain current ILR rules for dependants already in the UK. We believe the proposed 10 year waits and separate evaluations are unfair, risk family separation, and cause hardship. We think families who have lived here for years should progress together towards settlement.
Allow all ILR holders to bring parents and in-laws to UK as dependants
We want the UK Government to amend immigration rules to allow people with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) to bring their parents and parents-in-law to live with them as dependants, even if they are not financially dependent or require long-term personal care.
Retain 5-year ILR Pathway for LGBTIQ+ Refugees in the UK
The Government’s new asylum policy proposes replacing the current five-year refugee leave with temporary 30-month grants and delaying eligibility for settlement to 20 years for those on the new core protection route. We believe these changes will disproportionately impact LGBTIQ+ refugees negatively
Protect 5-Year ILR and Benefits for Refugees Already on the Path to settlement
We want the Government to keep the 5-year ILR route for refugees and commit to ensuring that any new rules or benefit restrictions do not apply to those already holding refugee status or already on the existing pathway to ILR.
Keep the 5-Year ILR route for refugees. Do not extend it to 10 or 20 years
We call on the UK Government to preserve the current 5-year route (ILR) for refugees and people with humanitarian protection.
