Establish a Health & Care Commission on long-term NHS & social care reform
We ask the Government to establish an independent, cross-party Health & Care Consensus Commission tasked with creating a 10–15-year legislative plan for NHS and social care reform (including funding, workforce, system design, digital infrastructure and reform), to end repeated cycles of disruption.
Pause NHS Neighbourhood plans, protect local GP surgeries & hold consultation
Pause the rollout of Neighbourhood Health reforms. Hold a full public consultation, publish detailed implementation plans, commit to protecting GP surgeries, and formally commit to and guarantee that no contracts will be handed to private companies or overstretched hospital trusts.
Refocus investigation of maternity care and expand to include all NHS trusts
We call on the Government to expand the investigation of maternity care to include all NHS trusts. The review should address birth trauma, unsafe staffing, and ensure funding to recruit and train more midwives for safer care.
Increase NHS Funding, and take action to address staffing and efficiency issues
1. Increase NHS funding to ensure it keeps pace with inflation & demand. 2. Tackle staff shortages by increasing investment in recruitment, fair pay, & retention 3. Drive further expansion of preventative health measures 4. Increase investment in modernising infrastructure & improving efficiency
