We call on the Government to create a fund to ensure that Veterans in Care Homes are not forced to change homes when their own private funding runs out. This can be especially hard for Veterans living with Dementia

Fund access to private health care for all injured British veterans
Injured British veterans often live with lifelong physical and psychological conditions caused by service. NHS pathways can involve long waits and limited specialist care. We think guaranteed private healthcare would provide timely, expert treatment and fulfil the nation’s duty of care.
Fully fund Good/Outstanding residential care for all people living with dementia
Dementia affects people of all ages and can create unsafe home conditions, breaking many families physically and mentally. Privatised residential care is very expensive. We urge the Government to reallocate welfare funding for Care Quality Commission-rated Good or Outstanding dementia care.
Increase Government funding for children’s homes & the young people living there
We would like the government to increase funding for children’s homes to ensure that the young people have the support they need to pay for things such as their food shopping, clothes, toiletries, phone bill, and anything else they need.
Provide funding for legal advice & representation for Armed Forces personnel
We want the Government to enhance the legal rights of HM Armed Forces personnel by providing funding to them for legal advice and representation in Service matters from the legal representative of their choice.
Introduce the care home fees cap for personal care costs
A care cap was due to come into force in England in October 2025. It would have meant that no one would have to pay more than £86,000 in England for their personal care. This was postponed and finally abolished by the previous and current governments. I feel strongly that it should be implemented.
