Increase New State Pension and pay to all, abolish the old Basic State Pension.
We think the government should put all our elderly onto the New State Pension, increase the New State Pension to a good percentage of average earnings and abolish the old 'Basic State Pension'.
Review and reform administration of Universal Credit & compensation
Universal Credit was established to help provide financial stability & support to those in need. However, we believe mounting evidence & widespread testimonies are revealing that injustice, financial distress, & systemic mismanagement have become pervasive experiences for claimants nationwide.
Reform nurse education funding, cancel debt & reinstate bursaries
Abolish tuition fees for nurse training, reinstate the NHS nursing bursary, and forgive existing student loan debt for nurses working in the NHS.
Stop the State Pension retirement age rising to 67. Make it 65
Let people have the choice whether to retire or keep working. Many people have been working since they were 16. We think a state pension retirement age of 65 for all is ample enough
Launch review into the sustainability and future impact of the state pension
We call on the Government to launch a review on the “triple lock” pension policy. We believe it could put a strain on the public finances, leading to increases in the pension age for future generations, and lead to increases in tax as the working population decreases as a share of the population.
