Change the law to allow under 16's to be recognised as victims of domestic abuse
We want the government to amend the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 so children under 16 who experience abuse at the hands of a parent or partner can be legally recognised as victims of domestic abuse. Every child affected deserves to be heard, protected, and supported in law and through services.
Remove the 2-Year Limit for CICA Claims for Sexual Abuse Survivors
We call on the Government to allow survivors of sexual abuse to submit CICA applications at any time, not limited to two years. This could give child survivors the chance to claim support when they are ready, without being penalised for delays caused by trauma, fear, or lack of awareness.
Increase the maximum sentences for historical child abuse cases
Currently, we think the law fails survivors of historical child abuse We are calling for new maximum sentence that apply to historical child abuse cases prosecuted under the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 and the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
Amend divorce law to protect survivors of spousal sexual abuse
Change the law so that in cases where one spouse has been convicted of rape or other serious sexual offence against the other, the survivor is legally safeguarded from any financial claims made by their abuser in divorce proceedings.
Review Family Law to Prevent False Domestic Abuse Allegations
Review family law to find ways to prevent misuse of domestic abuse allegations in custody cases. Protect children from parental alienation and ensure justice for all parents.
