Review and Regulate AI to Protect Jobs and Prevent Mass Unemployment
We ask the Government to urgently review and regulate AI to protect jobs. Rapid AI advances could cause major unemployment across many sectors. We want an independent assessment of risks, safeguards for workers, and plans for reskilling so AI benefits society responsibly.
Review support for disabled people in accessing employment tribunals
We call on the Government to review the support available to help disabled people access and present their case in employment tribunals.
Review law on disability-related dismissals and employment tribunals
Review law on employers disciplining or dismissing staff for disability-related absence. Review if employment tribunals are making reasonable adjustments, the speed of responses, and treatment of harassment cases and evidence examination. Mandate disability training for judges and panel members.
Make AI job replacement illegal
Make it illegal for jobs to be replaced by artificial intelligence and automation technology. The government needs to develop and pass strict employment and discrimination laws for the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace.
STAR recruitment assessment lacks disability accommodations
The STAR recruitment assessment model does not provide adequate flexibility for neurodivergent candidates as required by the Employment Disability Act 2010. Interview questions are not provided in advance, creating barriers for candidates with conditions like Dyscalculia and potentially violating disability law.
