Require schools to teach British Sign Language from Key Stage 2 & at GCSE
Require schools to teach British Sign Language from Key Stage 2 as it could promote inclusion, accessibility and ensure everyone is heard. BSL supports Deaf and SEN children, improves communication for all, and should be available at GCSE level like other language options.

Recognise Devon as a Celtic nation by making old/Celtic Devonian a protected language and make an effort to save its Celtic heritage and language.
Introduce British Sign Language (BSL) to all primary school children
Use digital platforms to introduce BSL to all children within primary schools. Studies suggest sign-language use improves spelling, reading and language skills for all. It promotes inclusion of hearing-impaired children, supporting better educational, employment, and mental health outcomes.
