
Many bonfires are assembled for a long time before the event and in some cases unknown waste is dumped on to the bonfire. This could damage the health of bystanders and wildlife. Animals which have started to nest in the bonfire before the event can also be burnt alive, this cannot happen anymore.

Limit fireworks & bonfires to Nov 5th & closest Saturday, new timeframe & fines
Ban use of fireworks for bonfire night celebrations on days other than 5th Nov
Reduce the time of day that fireworks can be set off to between 5pm & 8pm
Make it illegal to have a bonfire until after 7pm
Ban public use of fireworks on New Year’s Eve & promote quieter alternatives
