Stop GCSE exams
We call on the Government to scrap GCSE exams and replace them with fairer continuous assessments, coursework, and smaller tests. We think this would reduce stress, improve mental health, and better prepare students for future education.
Introduce Law as a GCSE subject
Introduce GCSE Law to the national education curriculum. I feel the current curriculum can sometimes fail to inspire and motivate students.
Increase funding for learning support in schools
Teachers and children need Teacher Assistants and Learning Support Assistants. We believe without vital help and support; teaching and education may suffer, which could have a detrimental effect on all children - not just the children with additional needs.
Fund provision of a tablet for every pupil in KS2 and above to support learning
To support educating our children in a technologically advanced world, fund the provision of tablets to learners, to access apps for educational purposes. Make these Government-issued devices available to learners from the moment they reach Key Stage 2.
Include more modern and diverse authors in the GCSE English curriculum
I want the Government to review the old existing texts and plays and to include some authors written by women and people who come from a diverse background. One report suggested 1% of GCSE students have studied a book written by an author of colour.
