Fund free civil legal support for survivors of sexual violence

Create a Government-funded scheme that provides free, specialist civil legal support for survivors of sexual violence. This should cover legal advice, representation, and essential case costs, ensuring survivors can pursue civil claims regardless of income or financial barriers.

Fund free rape alarms and make them available for everyone

We want the government to make rape alarms free and available to anyone who feels that they want one. We believe the country has become less secure and safe.

Review highway code for vulnerable road users and fund a tv awareness campaign

We feel the Highway Code updates don’t go far enough for vulnerable road users. We believe the 2-metre distance when passing cyclists, horse riders or carriage drivers cannot be proven. We also feel the police do not enforce the code and we are not taken seriously enough when reporting incidents.

Provide funding for rape and sexual assault testing facilities in all hospitals

I think rape and sexual assault testing should be available in all hospitals and emergency rooms for survivors to feel safe in coming forward. There are victims who have found great strength to come forward for tests and help, but have been told they cannot receive it at their hospital.

Amend age-of-consent laws to protect those under 21

Currently, the age-of-consent in England and Wales is 16, with only a handful of exceptions. I believe this is woefully inadequate, as 16-20-year-olds are still maturing, and can still be taken advantage of by older adults.
