Provide funding so every school can have a full-time school counsellor

We call on the government to require every school to have a school counsellor. Many young people face multiple mental health challenges in school and do not have someone to get help from. This must be changed. Children must not have to suffer in silence anymore.

Provide funding for all schools to have a full time dedicated SENDCo

Currently in most schools the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) role is often additional to being a full time class teacher. This should not be the case. The SENDCo should be a separate role in schools. This is becoming more important with the ever growing need in SEN and schools.

Increase funding for learning support in schools

Teachers and children need Teacher Assistants and Learning Support Assistants. We believe without vital help and support; teaching and education may suffer, which could have a detrimental effect on all children - not just the children with additional needs.

Provide funding to subsidise school uniforms for all children

We want the Government to provide funding to subsidise free or significantly more affordable school uniforms for all school children to help families. We believe no child should be excluded or disadvantaged from education as their family can’t afford compulsory uniform.
