Make Carbohydrate Labelling Mandatory in all Restaurants and food establishments
Please consider advocating for legislation that makes the display of carbohydrate content compulsory for restaurant meals, in the same way that calorie labelling is currently mandated. This practical change would make eating out safer and more inclusive for thousands of people across the country.
Improve food labelling laws to clearly list all ingredients
Update food labelling laws so all ingredients, including starches and flavourings, must be clearly listed on packaging and menus. This should apply to pre-packed food, restaurants, takeaways and online food ordering to ensure safety for people with allergies and dietary needs.
Mandate information about added sugars on nutritional food labels
Require food manufacturers to list added sugars separately from total sugars on nutrition labels to help consumers to more accurately track their intake and align with the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition's 5% free-sugar guideline.
End the mandatory meat requirement in English school meals
Remove the mandatory requirement in the Requirements for School Food Regulations 2014 requiring maintained schools and academies to serve meat or poultry three days per week. We believe this rule conflicts with environmental goals and health guidance on reducing meat consumption.
Expand free school meals provision to cover all school children
I would like the Government to expand free school meals to cover all school children up until the end of sixth form.
