Require all educational establishments to show nutritional information on food
Introduce legislation to require all educational establishments to display nutritional information (calories, carbs, sugars, etc) for any food they serve in their canteens
Make Carbohydrate Labelling Mandatory in all Restaurants and food establishments
Please consider advocating for legislation that makes the display of carbohydrate content compulsory for restaurant meals, in the same way that calorie labelling is currently mandated. This practical change would make eating out safer and more inclusive for thousands of people across the country.
Mandate food businesses keep nut containing products separate
Government should regulate food businesses to mandate that nut containing products must be kept separate from other products during storage, preparation and sale. This also includes whilst on display in food selling environments
Mandate clear labelling of Coconut Oil and Palm Kernel Oil on food products
Clearly label MCTs (Medium-Chain Triglyceride), such as Coconut Oil and Palm Kernel Oil on products for consumption.
Add Traffic Lights for Additives & Ultra-Processed Foods to FSA Labels
Expand FSA food traffic lights to show: (1) presence of artificial additives such as sweeteners, preservatives, colours and flavours; (2) level of food processing using the NOVA 1–4 scale, with 4 = ultra-processed (red). This could give citizens clearer, quicker health information at a glance.
