Ban the breeding of cats with extreme physical traits or inherited conditions that cause suffering, such as Scottish Fold, Manx and dwarf-type cats. Require strict licensing, health screening and full disclosure of risks if breeding is permitted.

Introduce mandatory neutering of non-breeding cats
Introduce legislation requiring neutering of non-breeding domestic cats, with exemptions for licensed breeders and cats with certified medical reasons.
Require all owned cats to be neutered
We call on the Government to introduce mandatory neutering for owned cats and to create legal protections and enforcement options to safeguard cat welfare. Cats are one of the most common pets in the UK, yet we feel they have far fewer legal protections than other animals.
Require domestic cats to be kept inside April-September and wear belled collars
We require domestic cats to wear quick release multi-belled harnesses or belled collars all the time, when cats are venturing outside, and/or be kept house bound between the start of April, right through to the end of September, annually.
Make all domestic animal breeding a regulated practice protecting the animals
We want all animal breeders to pay for a licence to breed animals. This licence fee would go toward the cost of regulating the industry. I want officers to be able to do random checks on breeders, and available if someone is concerned about a breeders’ practices with heavy fines for non-compliance.
Outright ban on all XL Bully dogs
We think the 2024 ban that allowed existing XL bully dogs to hold an exemption certificate is clearly not working given the continuing number of serious attacks. We think that the dogs are clearly not suitable for domestic settings and need to be destroyed.
