Michael William Patrick Clyne

Social Democratic Party candidate for Cropredy, Sibfords and Wroxton

Social Democratic Party

We at the SDP are very committed to providing greater focus to Family, Community and Nation. In order that we identify our worth and can build stronger ties in our community and to be a proud citizen of the United Kingdom. I am a resident of Cropredy and have been for 8 years. I have been a serving police officer for 33 years of my life, a college lecturer, worked at both the Ashmolean Museum and Bodleian Library. During Covid I worked as a carer, and up until recently in reception/security at Wroxton College. 1. I believe education is such an important part of life, but we seem to be failing young people in schools and colleges, with a lack of discipline, funding, support and in so many cases lack of providing options for school leavers (although the latter also includes society in general), and not forgetting the most recent disaster, stating that our local children are not able to access Banbury schools and have to attend a school in Bicester. ACCOUNTABILITY! 2. The SDP are seeking public ownership of both the rail network and local water authorities. The cost of fares rising every year and lack of facilities on the trains is way out of control. The same of course can be said about the water authorities. The ultimate insult to injury, is the outrageous bonuses being paid to senior management, who have proven records of failing in their roles of providing safe waters to drink and swim in. ACCOUNTABILITY! 3. Affordable housing for many years was an issue for the towns & cities of our land, but now it is of great concern throughout the UK. New housing is of course a necessity, but to suggest it’s affordable is an insult to our intelligence. ACCOUNTABILITY! 4. Crime and Policing. In our rural communities we are constantly being made aware of incident's involving suspicious activity and people, via social media! We have definitely been left to fend for ourselves as a result of horrendous cut backs to policing (this like many other issues is another concern throughout the UK). The most insulting thing about all this, is the BS government and media keep pushing our way stating that “Crime is going down”. ACCOUNTABILITY! 5. Don’t get me started on Immigration. Only last week, I spent 8 hours with a friend who was having a medical procedure at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. The hospital was virtually full with immigrant staff, who happened to be very hard working, lovely and caring individuals, providing a fantastic service for the NHS and our community. They were not illegal immigrants, there is a difference! ACCOUNTABILITY! Look, these are some of the pressing issues in our ward, so we need to ask more questions and demand satisfactory answers that can be tried & tested and fact checked. Join the SDP in seeking the facts and accountability. Life is not all doom & gloom, of course there are great, great people and organisations doing the most fantastic jobs to help many of our community in every day scenarios, be that family members, teachers, carers, police officers, the doctors, nurses and support staff of the NHS, local councillors, builders, tradesmen/women, refuse collectors, factory, retail & hospitality workers, young people and of course all the volunteers, in a nutshell the grafters and workers. These are the same people having sleepless nights, as they struggle to give their family the best opportunities.
