In Stephanie's own words

Moving to the area from London in 2018, Steph previously worked with vulnerable people as a housing officer before following her passion for food and the environment.

She has spent the last few years volunteering on a number of food and farming-related projects and founded the Incredible Edible group in 2020; installing a veg patch in Leigh Library Gardens, running volunteer sessions and guerrilla gardening on unloved patches of land.

She would love to make Southend greener, encouraging pride in our area and a connection to nature for all whilst tackling the biodiversity and climate crisis. She currently runs a school gardening club and is passionate about encouraging children to grow food.

Steph is a committed environmental activist with a degree in Politics and Media and is currently studying for an MSc in Sustainable Food at the Centre for Alternative Technology.
