“Fiona has been a parish councillor for 10 years in Yarnton and 5 years in Kidlington. Her focus is to engage with residents to create community projects that connect people with our environment.”

“She is currently the Deputy Chair of Yarnton Parish Council and sits on the Community Committee at Kidlington Parish Council where she and is also on the allotment committee. She was instrumental in setting up a community orchard in Yarnton and is working towards similar projects in Kidlington, including shared garden spaces in public parks that will help people to grow their own food. She's also a strong supporter of animal rights and a campaigner for wildlife protection.”

“She has been involved with local campaign groups and parish councils in monitoring the huge housing and development plans for the area, making sure that developers are addressing flooding issues, ecological impacts and traffic management. She has been campaigning for more safe cycle routes and better public transport and is a founder member of the local flood resilience group as well as being an active member of the Kidlington Environment Group.”

“Fiona has been a volunteer at the local community larder and also helped with the washing up and table settings for the local Climatarian kitchen lunch club. She also helped with food deliveries to vulnerable people during the early days of the pandemic.”

“Her main local concerns at the moment are to push for more measures to ensure vulnerable people receive the support they require from local authorities. She continues to campaign for more affordable housing for local families in the area and is working with campaign groups on improving local flood resilience. She's also appalled at the amount of litter in the villages and would like to set up a Keep Cherwell Tidy Campaign.”
