In Sarina's own words

I grew up in North Edgbaston, and I know first-hand what it’s like to live in a community that doesn’t always have the support networks young people need to thrive. For many families along Dudley Road and City Road, life can feel like a constant struggle to find opportunities, stability, and a path forward.

I was fortunate to get my first job at 18 on Dudley Road, working at Lidl while supporting myself through education. I grew up on welfare. I understand the fight, the uncertainty, and the determination it takes to keep going when the system isn’t built for you. And I know that none of us should have to do it alone.

I’ve worked hard to find my footing in this world and now it’s time for me to give back to the community that shaped me. That’s why I’m standing in this election. I want every young person, every family, every resident to feel the support, opportunities, and investment our area deserves. We are a community full of talent, strength, and resilience. With the right backing, we can achieve so much more.

I’m running because I understand the struggle. I’m running because I believe in this community. And I’m running because it’s time we lift people up, not leave them behind.
