My name is Wajid Bashir Malhotra, and I’ve spent the past 20 years working as a journalist for multiple television companies, driven by one clear purpose: serving the public. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life, listening to their stories, and highlighting the issues that truly matter to our communities. I’ve seen first-hand how policies affect real lives, and I believe that experience has prepared me to step forward and make a direct difference. Alongside my professional work, I’ve always been actively involved in supporting charities and community initiatives. Whether through volunteering my time, raising awareness, helping to organise local efforts, or connecting people with the support they need, I strongly believe that strong communities are built when we look out for one another. I’m also a proud family man. I have a wife and three children, and they are at the heart of everything I do. Like many families, we care deeply about safe neighbourhoods, good schools, accessible services, and a strong sense of belonging. Being a husband and father gives me a personal understanding of the hopes and concerns that so many local families share. Standing to become a councillor feels like a natural next step for me. After two decades of reporting on the issues, I now want to be directly involved in shaping the solutions. I want to use my experience, independence, and understanding of our community to work hard on behalf of every resident. I care deeply about our area and the people who live here. It would be an honour to represent you, to liste
