Green Party candidate for Bickley & Sundridge
“Candidate Statement”
“Cecilia Broderick – Green Party”
“I have lived in Bickley with my husband and two children for twenty years. I worked as a teacher and head of Admissions/Student Finance in universities. ”
“I joined the Green Party because all its core values completely align with my personal, political and human philosophy. ”
“Priorities:”
“NHS”
“I was diagnosed with a blood cancer in 2012. I had treatment at Kings College Hospital and am currently being treated at the Princess Royal University Hospital. From my perspective it is totally unacceptable to move inpatient haematology care from the PRUH to KCH. It will inject an unacceptable physical and mental burden on patients. There is no parking at KCH and waiting for a train at Denmark Hill following hours of treatment is too much, I know!”
“We also need to protect the NHS from privatisation. We must invest in the NHS especially mental health and remove private sector influence. It is in all our interests.”

“Education”
“My niche interest is in special educational needs as my daughter is autistic. In my experience both private sector and state sector both need to put written practical policies in place to support SEND children. We need policies around the school environment, such as exams setup, communication strategies and the establishment of quiet spaces, for SEND children to thrive and achieve their full potential.”
“Protect Bromley Green Spaces”
“We must actively protect our wildlife which benefits the whole eco system. We also need to protect the green belt from inappropriate development. Keep Bromley beautiful!”
“Freedom pass for pensioners”
“We must not remove freedom passes for pensioners. They are already struggling financially. Let’s support them.”
“Bromley Football Club”
“We are season ticket holders at Charlton Athletic (my husband was raised in Blackheath). Bromley FC is looking great for promotion to League 1. I will support them in all their endeavours.”
“Road Safety”
“We need safer parking and 20mph speed limits near all schools.”
“Bromley is a beautiful green place to live. If elected, I will do my utmost to keep it that way.”
