Councillor Candidate
Aeden Francis Rooney

Aeden Francis Rooney

Labour candidate for Hoddesdon Town and Rye Park

Labour

I joined the Labour Party to make a real difference. Growing up, I was a young carer until the age of 15, when I tragically lost my mum to a failing NHS and a broken social care system. I saw first-hand how chronic underfunding devastated SEND support in our schools. Those experience shaped my life, and I swore I’d fight tooth and nail to make sure no child or family has to go through what mine did. That’s why I’m proud to be standing as a candidate in the very community where I grew up, where I went to school, and where I witnessed the strength, resilience, and hard work that built Hoddesdon. If elected as your Labour councillor, I will work to restore and empower our community through a new era of co-operativism—putting people before profit, and rebuilding from the ground.
