In Katie's own words

Katie moved to Cambridge when her son started school. As a mum and teacher in Special Needs, Katie is in touch with the experiences of a wide diversity of Cambridge residents, aware of the opportunities and difficulties of living in this city. In her spare time, Katie enjoys walking, writing and cheering her son in football and hockey matches.

Katie has always been passionate about saving wildlife and this year has taken the no-flight pledge. Within the Liberal Democrats, Katie is a member of the Green Lib Dems and the Social Liberal Forum, both of which explore and promote holistic solutions to the destructive tendencies of our current economy.

Katie believes that the widening wealth gap in the UK underlies many of our problems, blocking transition to greener ways of life, incubating hate speech and placing ever increasing demands on healthcare and social services. Within the Lib Dems and beyond, Katie is researching and campaigning to reduce tax on the lowest paid and cancel tax reliefs for the highest paid.
