In Saqeeb's own words

For much of my life I remained apolitical, but that changed as I witnessed a growing culture of mismanagement and a political landscape that too often relies on gaslighting and self-interest. This disillusionment deepened with the conflict in Gaza, which exposed a painful gap between the values of compassion we claim to hold as a nation and the reality of our political actions, which are now too often focused on division and empty slogans.

As a new father, I recognise that the foundations of my child’s future begin in our local community, in the very streets and services we use every day. I want Chingford and Woodford Green to be an environment where everyone can thrive - a place defined by safety, opportunity, and a genuine sense of family and belonging. I have realised that we cannot simply wish for a better community; we have to be the ones to help build it. Driven by these values, I am standing for council to champion a vision centred on a true conscience, one that strives for an equitable society where everyone is treated with dignity, regardless of their background.

I have spent my professional life building expertise in financial and strategic matters, having earned my Fellowship with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and completed my Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). This professional background, combined with my experience in community governance as a Chair and Treasurer of local clubs and societies, equips me with the tools to provide the rigorous oversight needed to manage our resources responsibly. My focus is not simply on efficiency, but on ensuring that sufficient and proper provision is made for the services and priorities that are vital to our community. With your backing, I would like to bring this experience to work on your behalf, ensuring our local government operates with the integrity and fairness that our community deserves.
