Liberal Democrats candidate for Brixton Rush Common
Active on State
I have lived in Rush Common ward since 2019 and I know the community and its concerns very well. LTNs need to be reviewed on a case by case basis. They were forced on everyone without taking into consideration the community’s needs or opinion. This is unfair. We need to restore democracy to Lambeth Council which has been ruled by Labour for years without accountability or oversight. 1) I will work on improving cycling infrastructure by adding a speed camera on Effra road (so that the 20 mph speed limit means 20 mph). 2) I will work for a new cycle lane without affecting traffic to help cyclists avoid being in the middle of a three-lane road when they join the A23 from Effra road. 3) St Matthew’s Community Hall has been dead for years. I will seek support from the government and businesses to create regular activities for our young to provide them with new skills in IT and coding as well as art and culture.
