Marcia grew up and went to school in Brixton and has been proud to represent Brixton Rush Common Ward since 2006. As Lambeth's Cabinet Member for Economic Inclusion, she has helped lead Labour's work to spread opportunity Locally - supporting over 300 businesses to become Living Wage accredited and expanding apprenticeships so more residents can access fair pay and good jobs. Locally, Marcia is known for persistent casework and community campaigning - from improving bus services and creating new play areas to supporting local greening projects and neighbourhood groups. She works closely with residents, through regular surgeries and community meetings, to push for practical improvements across the ward.
