John has lived and been involved in the Prettygate and Lexden area since he first moved to Colchester as a child. Now retired, John worked in the NHS and in local government as an HR manager. When a member of Essex County Council, John was instrumental in making sure that Lexden Park was not turned into another housing estate and that County handed it over to Colchester Borough Council as a public open space.
