In Hazel's own words

Haz (they/them) has lived and worked in Crawley for over 4 years. They are active within the local community and want to ensure that decisions made at council level are representative of the needs of all residents in the community.

Haz is in their final few months of study as an Adult Nurse and is starting their MSc for dual-registration in Mental Health Nursing in September. They work as a front-line homelessness worker at Crawley Open House and have extensive experience and involvement in community work for the homeless outside of this.

“Over several years now I have watched as the country I know and love has descended further into the path of the right wing, and I can’t stand back and watch that happen anymore. I am willing to put the work in to make sure that the communities that our children grow up in are everything they can be. I feel it is my duty to do everything I can to help unite us all and move us towards the common goal of improving living standards for every single one of us, from now, and for always moving forwards. I will always fight for the inclusion and consideration of the most marginalised of us, whether politically or otherwise”.
