In Heidi's own words

Heidi James-Dunbar has lived in Worth for nine years. She is committed to strengthening the local community, working with the community to create a brighter future and ensuring that decisions made at council level reflect the needs of all residents.

Professionally, she works as an academic and writer in education. Her experience includes:

Academic Faculty Director – her work in education (of over 20 years) has included safeguarding of all users, curriculum design and planning, staff management, student development and research. Fundamental to her role was ensuring students from all backgrounds, learning abilities and styles were supported and included in the curriculum offering, and as part of her initiative she worked on decolonising the curriculum and published a number of papers in international journals sharing findings and processes with peers. She is a published author (both academic and fiction).

Vice-Chair of Governors for Maidenbower Infant School (Local Authority governor responsible for SEND).

“I’m standing because I feel lucky to live here and while things are really difficult at the moment for many of us, I know that by coming together we can create a safer, secure and brighter community where we can all flourish.”
