In Marijn's own words

I’m standing as the Green Party candidate for East Acton in the May 2026 local elections because I believe ordinary people – not career politicians – deserve a stronger voice.

After nearly 19 years in Ealing, I’ve seen poor council decisions: threats to Warren Farm, overdevelopment without affordable housing, neglected green spaces, and failure to support residents affected by projects like HS2.

This must change. Ealing should work for everyone, and more Green councillors will mean real collaboration with residents.

I’ve previously stood in local and London Assembly elections and bring experience in community organising, climate activism, citizens’ assemblies, and social justice work. I cycle everywhere, support a local animal rescue, and work in nature conservation. In my professional life I have managed a variety of teams, worked in media and press teams, community-based projects and campaigning, mostly under high pressure and chaos – I’d say I am ready to face the duties of a councillor with confidence.

I want to bring transparency and accountability to Ealing, as well as listening to residents’ needs and concerns and building a plan together to improve lives, neighbourhoods and communities.
