Antonio Favata
Green Party candidate for Southbury
I came to North London from Italy eleven years ago, and like many neighbours here, I chose to put down roots. Over 40% of Enfield residents were born outside the UK: this borough's diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and I'm proud of being a part of it. I've spent almost two decades in grassroots activism and community organising, alongside a career in software engineering. I believe in solving problems from the ground up: working with communities, not around them. The Southbury Leisure Park development is the defining local issue right now; as councillor, I would propose an alternative scheme prioritising affordable housing, green spaces and community needs, with residents involved in shaping it from the start. Economic wellbeing, social justice and environmental health are inseparable. Southbury deserves councillors who act on that, and I'd be honoured to be one of them.
