In Jackie's own words

Originally from the North East, Jackie came to Manchester to study for her PhD.

She was first elected to Manchester City Council for Gorton North in 1991 and served until 2012, during which she worked to ensure that Gorton District Centre was redeveloped, the Monastery was saved and to stop Tameside Council building around the reservoirs at Debdale.

Has lived in the Gorton Constituency for most of her adult life. Jackie was involved in many campaigns to improve the Gorton area.
