In India's own words

My name is India Robertson, and I am standing as the Green Party candidate for Burn Valley in the upcoming elections in Hartlepool on the 7th of May.

I have lived in Hartlepool for 5 years and feel as though, throughout that time, I have learned how warm, friendly and hard-working the people in this town are. By running for a local council position, I hope to give back to the community that has been so welcoming and supportive of me over the years.

As much as I love this community, I believe that there are major issues that need addressing, for example:

-Renters’ rights are being dismissed

-Public transport is inaccessible to many

-Our most vulnerable communities’ needs are being neglected

-Many local businesses are struggling to make ends meet

But most of all, people are feeling hopeless and like their voices don’t matter. I vow to change that.

If I am elected, the views of the residents of Burn Valley will be my priority, and I will communicate with them regularly to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are prioritised.

If anything that I have said in this statement resonates with you, I would appreciate your support. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss anything further. With your help, I truly believe that I can change Burn Valley for the better!
