In Mike's own words

I have worked as a mental health social worker, community development worker and a detached youth worker. I presently jointly run a service for homeless people that provides over seventy people with a home that’s affordable and work with them to have greater choices and independence to move positively forward in their lives and to have the belief that tomorrow will be a better day. We are extremely proud of this achievement as we started 8 years ago with only two people.

If elected I would like to work close with the community to

Reduce child and family poverty and empower local communities.

Reduce high rents and make more affordable.

Make homes more affordable and reduce homelessness.

Reduce fear of crime, anti social behaviour and work in partnership with communities and agencies.

Reduce fly tipping and engage multi-agency services to reduce impact on the environment.

Create clean spaces for everyone especially for children to play

Engage a range of young people into positive activities

Reduce cost of living, high energy bills,

Food prices,

Bring services back into public ownership and make transport more affordable.

introduce basic income.

Improve access to dental care, GP appointments.

Improve mental health services and work with GP services, Mental health teams and patients to ensure a more responsive and joined up service.
