Independent candidate for Crosland Moor and Netherton
I was born and raised in Thornton Lodge, Huddersfield, and this community has shaped who I am. For me, the Crosland Moor ward is my home and identity. After completing my studies in 2015, I returned to serve the community, working closely with families and young people. It was here that I saw both the strength of our community and the lack of opportunities for many of our youth. So I took action, helping to establish a youth club that gave dozens of young people a safe space each week. In 2018, I founded Huddersfield Community First with my own savings. Since then, we’ve supported thousands through youth programmes, education, and vital food provision including a food bank, soup kitchen and hardship grants, because I believe no one in our town should be left behind. But despite the hard work of local people, our area is being let down. Services are declining, costs are rising, and too many voices are going unheard. Crosland Moor deserves better. That’s why I’m standing as an independent candidate. Free from party control, and fully accountable to you. I’m not a career politician. I’m someone who has served this community for over a decade and will continue to do so with honesty, action, and purpose. I pledge to: 1. Challenge proposed cuts and improve local services including, restoring parks, improving roads, and tackling fly-tipping. 2. Ensure ward budgets are fully invested in local initiatives. 3. Work with WYP to reduce crime and prioritise public safety. 4. Champion local projects, particularly youth provisions. 5. Donate at least £200 every month from my personal allowance to local community projects.
