“I'm proud to represent the Green Party at the ballot box and help fight for a fairer, greener future for everyone. I've lived in Huntingdonshire for almost all of my life, and I love it here - I'm grateful to have this opportunity to give back to my community and help make our area the best it can be. I'm an experienced Councillor, representing Huntingdon West, and I was delighted to be recognised as one of the Green Party's '30 under 30' this year. My main priority is to help support people through this cost of living crisis - the Government has failed to support residents through this crisis, and the ordinary public are paying the price. We're also seeing the first signs of the climate crisis on our doorstep, with record flooding over the past few years turning lives upside down. Our area's biodiversity is also collapsing - with huge parts of our wildlife at risk of being lost forever. Alongside so many people, I'm frustrated by the lack of reliable public transport and active travel infrastructure in our towns and villages. We live in an area which relies on residents owning a car to access basic services like shops and GPs. If elected, I'll work to ensure that everyone, especially people in rural areas, has access to reliable public transport and proper walking and cycling routes. Huntingdon is also an expensive place to rent or buy a place to live, with people of all ages priced out of our area. I'm campaigning to make the rental market fairer, including calling for an end to no-fault evictions, and more support to get local people onto the housing ladder - by boosting housing stock through a mix of refurbishment, conversions, and suitable new builds.”
