In Daniel's own words

I'm Daniel Davey, I was born and raised in Ipswich. I've had the town in my heart throughout my working career in the pub and leisure industry. In my 4 years mananging and running pubs & bars, I've seen and been friends with people from across the spectrum of industries and upbringings. With this experience the one thing I can tell you is finding the right education and mentors is the true key to success.

I developed my interest in politics during 2010, finding it fascinating that two parties came together for a more balanced government. Though on my journey I discovered many within the LibDems felt this as a betrayal within the party, as a new steward looking in, I would hate to think what might have happened if they had not tempered their partners in power at this critical juncture in British history, especially looking back now what has happened without that calming moral presence.

I now feel the world and more importantly, locally, that calming voice is needed again. We have become fractured. It's time to turn that tide back to unity and cooperation. Time to work for long term success instead of short-term one-upmanship that blight the larger parties. As the old adage goes, be the change you wish to see, that is why I am running and that is why I also think you should not ignore the local elections this year. Who you vote for on the 2nd May won't affect the Brexit mess but will affect what happens to your local community and to Ipswich in the coming years. One of the councillors' key roles is being your first point of contact & to represent you if you have issues and concerns in your local community and I hope to be that voice and man of action for you in the Whitton Ward. Should you wish to contact me, please email me at info@ipswichlibdems.org.uk
