In Andrew's own words

Four years ago, I was first elected as Isle of Wight councillor for our area. Since then I’ve taken up issues on behalf of hundreds of residents.

Some issues have affected many people such as the St Mary’s junction scheme and the campaign for improvements on the prison estates. Others have had an impact on a smaller number of residents, such as road and pavement repairs, advising on how to respond to planning applications, and ensuring litter and fly-tipping are dealt with.

At council budget time, I have proposed ways to reduce the impact of Conservative cuts to vital services. And I’ve also set out plans that would boost local businesses, enhance our communities, and ensure the council plays its part in tackling the climate emergency.

So, whether the issue has been ‘big’ or ‘small’, I hope that I’ve shown that I am a councillor who is available, keeps in touch, listens to local people, and takes action.
