In Becca's own words

I have enjoyed being an active member of our local community for 31 years. With a history of “hands on” engagement in protecting our environment and promoting our beautiful area, I was asked by residents to stand for the Isle of Wight Council ward of Freshwater South.

Many will be aware of my role tackling our serious sewage problems head on with Southern Water, resulting in cleaner seas and rivers for us all, and also for supporting many local projects and community groups. I was instrumental in achieving the Conservation Area status for Freshwater Bay.

My priorities include protecting our valuable green spaces and wildlife, ensuring our rivers, estuaries and bathing beaches are cleaner, and that affordable development is in appropriate places with homes that locals can actually afford. I will continue to support our valuable library and West Wight Sports and Community Centre and to ensure our parks are safe, fun areas for our children to play in. I will focus on improving our NHS healthcare, enhancing local policing and tackling transport and infrastructure issues.

Above all, as an Independent Community Champion, I will be the substantial voice for residents to amplify and resolve their local concerns.
