In David's own words

David moved to Hook and Chessington North in 2013, drawn by the promise of green spaces and good links into London. After 18 years as a civil servant — most recently championing the safe and equitable development of self-driving technologies — he is stepping into a new chapter, and standing for the Green Party feels like the natural next step.

'Chessington is one of the poorer wards in the borough, and too often it feels like decisions are made elsewhere, for elsewhere. As a Green Party councillor, I won't be beholden to the Lib Dem majority — I can speak up for our community and put Chessington's needs first.'

'Our ward is crying out for better public transport — too many journeys that should be a quick bus ride are either hopelessly convoluted or just easier by car. And when it comes to planning, major developments keep being waved through with little thought for the impact on our green spaces, our local services, or the people who already live here. That has to change.'
