In Gerry's own words

Having lived for most of my adult life in New Malden and raised a family here. I have watched with growing concern how our Liberal Democrats Council (they have 42 out 48 seats at the Guildhall) is giving free rein to private developers with no comprehensive plan for New Malden.

As a result today’s children will struggle to find affordable housing in ever more, oversized developments.

Aside from the City of London Corporation, Kingston has the worst record in London for the provision of social housing. The average wait time for a three-bed affordable home in Kingston is now over 25 years! In addition despite the extra Government funding to fix Kingston’s poor roads, our Royal Borough has been assessed with a red rating (the lowest) for road maintenance. And yet we are charged some of the highest rates of Council Tax in London.

Across the By-pass in neighbouring Merton (a Labour-run borough) residents pay £400 less a year for their council services. Our Council can and should do more.

Vote Labour on May 7th and we will show you how.
