In Khadijah's own words

Hiya! I’m Khadijah. I’ve lived in Horsforth since I was six, and I went to Broadgate Primary and Horsforth High.

I’m now studying Law at university, driven by my interest in racial justice. I am also an advocate for LGBTQ+ and women’s rights. I’m especially focused on counter‑terrorism powers and how wrongful stop and search unfairly targets people of colour.

These issues are a big part of why my values align so strongly with the Green Party and the vision they have for the country.

With the current cost of living crisis, so many people are struggling. Some bills have risen by 60% since 2020. I think supporting local businesses and choosing more locally grown produce can make a real difference.

I’m also passionate about groups like Horsforth Climate Action, which promote reducing, reusing and recycling — things I try to put into practice every day. I’ve recently started volunteering at Horsforth Community Kitchen, a community‑run, pay‑as‑you‑feel café that helps prevent food waste.

I genuinely believe social and economic issues are deeply connected to protecting our environment, and the Green Party offers thoughtful, practical solutions to both.
