Labour candidate for Brockley
Active on State
I’m proud to have grown up in Lewisham and have lived in the borough all my life, now just a few minutes from Brockley Station. I’m standing to be one of your local councillors in Brockley so that I can help make our area an even better place to live. I want to combine my experience working in local government with my love for Brockley to support local people and businesses, be a strong voice for our community and get things done. My priorities include: • Cleaner streets - securing more enforcement action to tackle fly-tipping and ensuring street cleaning is carried out properly • Safer roads - getting more road crossings installed and working with the police to tackle speeding • Better housing - supporting the delivery of new homes, including more affordable and council housing, and ensuring private renters get the support they need from the council • A greener Brockley - getting more street trees planted and supporting community gardening projects, as well as ensuring we continue to invest in our local parks and green spaces • Thriving local economy - supporting local businesses and ensuring the council uses its powers to bring empty shops back into use • Sorting out the Brockley Social Club - ensuring the current owners clear up and secure the site to prevent fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour and working with the community to explore alternative future uses of the land
