In Alex's own words

I know the difference Labour makes.

I grew up in a town hit hard by the closure of the steelworks and Tory cuts. I personally benefited from Labour's investment in schools, reconnecting us with a long-awaited train station, and supporting families in need. That opportunity meant I became the first in my family to go to university, where I served two terms as Students' Union President at the University of Greenwich, representing more than 30,000 students across the South East.

Those same values of fairness and opportunity drive me now in Lewisham. Outside of work and the Party, I volunteer as Vice-Chair with a Ladywell-based housing and grant giving charity that provides homes for those in need later in life.

I'm standing to be your Crofton Park councillor—to put opportunity, fairness, and community at the heart of local life.

**My commitment to you in Crofton Park:**

- **Focused on local priorities:** I will build on the work of your outgoing councillors by improving road safety, tackling fly-tipping and street cleanliness, and working with police and council officers to reduce crime, speeding and antisocial behaviour.

- **Accessible and accountable:** I will be an active Crofton Park councillor. I will be visible, present, and responsive to residents.

- **Rebuilding trust:** Politics only works when people are part of it. I will listen, communicate clearly, and involve the community in decisions, making sure choices are understood and shared openly.

**My commitment to the people of Lewisham:**

- **Housing:** Champion genuinely affordable homes for families on all incomes, from those who need social housing to those working hard but still priced out, so everyone can build a future in Lewisham.

- **Cleaner, safer streets:** Tackle fly-tipping head-on with stronger enforcement, better waste services, and community partnerships. Clean streets and pride in our borough are the basics we all deserve.

- **Fair funding for Lewisham:** Lead the case for a fair deal from central government so we can preserve essential services, rebuild those that have been cut, and invest confidently in Lewisham's future.
