Councillor Candidate
Naomi McCarthy

Naomi McCarthy

Liberal Democrats candidate for Grove Green

Active on State

Liberal Democrats

Naomi has lived in Grove Green with her husband and two children since 2012. She joined the Liberal Democrats in 2016 and has been championing local residents' concerns ever since. She has supported residents on issues such as housing, special educational needs and school streets, and helped to fix parking, local flooding and fly tipping complaints. She has also campaigned on the need for a new Whipps Cross Hospital and against increased flights from City Airport. Her top priorities for Waltham Forest include creating safer neighbourhoods, increasing affordable housing, protecting our tree canopy and improving recycling rates in the borough. Professionally Naomi works in the music industry as a campaigner for musicians' rights, and would bring her wide experience of advocating for others to the role of councillor. She says, 'I care deeply about our amazing, diverse neighbourhood and would love to be able to speak up for local people and ensure their voices are heard. During my years of campaigning in Grove Green, I have spoken to hundreds of people about their concerns and it is clear that Labour has taken residents for granted for too long. They deserve a Councillor who understand their concerns and will work hard for them all year round.'
